Hyperlink capabilities and limitations

I am trying to link cells in a sheet in a workbook to
another sheet in another workbook on a server in different
folders. It incorrectly inserts a subfolder name in the
link address for each linked cell. Can I hyperlink base a
sheet in a workbook separately from other sheets?
