hyperlink crash...

I'm trying to create a hyperlink in an email (Word as the editor) which says
LINK but goes to a website... why is it that this is causing my message to
crash and vanish without giving me the option to save?! wouldn't have minded
if it was the first thing i did!

I've repaired and re-installed office... deleting the office folder and
still the same!

Anyone else got any ideas before i throw in the towel and go back to pen and
paper?

Is it any link you try to install or just one particular link? Are these
links or hyperlinks? What happens if you disable Word as the Email Editor:
can you insert a link now? Please give us some more details such as version
of Word and OS too.
