I received an email with a hyperlink in it - it was in blue and underlined
and worked. When I forwarded it to a co-worker, it was no longer underlined
or in blue and obviously did not work as a hyperlink. It could be copied and
pasted but why doesn't it remain as a hyperlink. I use Outlook 2003.

What email client did the co-worker use? It might have been their client or
settings.
Is the link active in your Sent Items?

I believe it was sent from the same version of Outlook that I used. What
settings might affect this?

hyperlinks can be disabled if the message is suspected to be a phishing
message or suspected Junk. I don't think that would apply in your case.
IS maybe your administrator setting links as disabled for internal email?
