Hyperlink e-mails don't launch Outlook 2003

I orginally installed MS Office 2003 Professional on my PC without
Outlook. I later installed Outlook with no problem ... When I click
on a e-mail hyperlink, the PC launches IE and inserts the e-mail
address as a URL in the address bar, which causes over 60 errors to
pop up ... How can I make the system launch Outlook when the Hyperlink
is a E-mail address and IE when the hyperlink is a URL ???? ...
Pulling out what little hair i have left ... PLEASE ADVISE, Thanks ..

In IE, go to Tools > Internet Options > Programs, and make sure your Email
program is set to Microsoft Office Outlook.
