Hoping someone has an explanation for this. If I try to add a hyperlink to a
Word document or HTM document, the hyperlink fails to be created. Or if I
try to edit a hyperlink, the hyperlink disappears. Word applies the
hyperlink style, but the actual hyperlink is not there.
I'm using Office 2003. I've gone as far as uninstalling and reinstalling the
entire suite, to no avail. I swept the Registry with a maintenance program
before reinstalling Office, but perhaps it wasn't thorough enough in
cleaning up files. Or perhaps the problem lies elsewhere. The hyperlinks
function in FrontPage works fine. So now I'm learning how to use FrontPage,
while trying to figure out what went wrong with Word.
I looked at the code to see what's happening, and it appears that the
"address" part of the hyperlink is missing("Lamb" was supposed to be
hyperlinked to a web page):
<body lang=EN-US link=blue vlink=purple style='tab-interval:.5in'>
<p class=MsoNormal>Mary had a Little <a>Lamb</a></p>
</body>
Any suggestions or hints would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Doug
