hyperlink error

Using MS Office 2000, any links to Excel files will not open - and clicking
on a link will actuall lock up the computer! If Excel is already open, the
link will work perfectly.

Please help - I have a huge Word file with months of work in it and many
links to Excel files.

First you might try recreating the file associations since they are
used when you open files outside the application. If the Excel file
associations are damaged or missing information then what you describe
could occur.

Go to Start/Run and run:

excel /regserver

Note the space before the forward slash.
