hyperlink error

When I embed a valid url as a text string in a cell, or attach a hyperlink to
text in a cell, I get a msgbox, "An unexpected error has occurred" when I
click on that link - and the page never comes up. None of my colleagues
have this problem with their installation of Excel. Any thoughts as to why
this is occurring?
