hyperlink fails to open

using vista home and word 2007
suddenly the hyperlinks in word documents cannot open. when i click on them,
i get an error message saying something like (i translated from dutch): this
action has been cancelled due to system limitations. please contact the
system admin.
now i'm the admin and this always worked before, so i don't know how to fix.
