Hyperlink from office 2000 to office 2007

I have a Office 2000 document that has several hyperlinks to othe
office 2000 documents (by several I mean close to 1000). When I migrat
the primary document to office 2007 the links work fine. However I wis
to migrate all the linked documents to office 2007. When this is don
none of the links work as now the documents have a .docx extension an
the links point to a .doc file. Is there a way to globally change al
the hyperlinks in the primary migrated document from pointing to .doc t
.docx?
