Hyperlink in Excel is not opening a PDF document

I created a hyperlink in a cell, in order for the users to see the document
relevant to the hyperlink. After clicking the hyperlink, Excel attempts to
open the document but it only flashes for a moment and then it just goes
away. The document trying to open up is a PDF file. Thanks,
