Hyperlink in Project Center

Hello all,

I'm having a LOT of trouble getting a hyperlink to show up in the project
Center PWA view. I can create a hyperlink for a task and have it show up in
the "view a project" view without any problems. However we have lots of
projects and for the overall project "project center" view I cannot get a
hyperlink to appear. I tried putting a hyperlink in my master consolidated
file on the linked Project Summary task and publishing... but the field
remains blank for all projects in the PWA no matter what I do. Like I said
though if I click on the project in PWA and go to the "view a project" all
hyperlinks for the individual tasks show up without any problems... what am
I doing wrong? or better question... what SHOULD I be doing to get the links
to appear with the project itself?

The reason for this is to associate our C.O.Q.'s with the projects.
(customer option quote's) If I can get one hyperlink per project in the PWA
we can see the dozens of projects we manage and click the link which will
bring up the folder to see if we have any pending COQ's.

I'm using Project 2003 and Server 2003

Thank you all in advance... the project and project server newsgroups have
been the most usefull tool to me for all my project learning. keep up the
good work!!

Brian,

If you use the Sharepoint features (documents, issues, risks) of project server this gets accomplished for you automatically. Sharepoint sites are project workspaces where you can keep documents of all kinds. When documents get added to a project workspace an indicator icon appears in the far left column of the project center view that users can click to go directly to the documents for the selected project.

Brian,

You may have already found a solution to your problem, but just in case you
haven't. If your location is anything like mine, executives aren't real high
on clicking through several pages to get the information they need, and for
that reason Sharepoint, even with all it's customization features, is just
one click to many in some cases. Try this....

Open your enterprise global and rename one of the unused custom fields to
"COQ Document" or whatever, (Tools - Customize - Enterprise Fields) We used
the 'Project Field' and type 'Text'. Select the 'Graphical Indicators' button
located at the bottom.....follow these values or formula in the drop-down
lists (a variety of formulas will work however)

Test for Value(s)
Image
equals--------------[rename enterprise field that you used above]-----your
choice

ok all the way out, save the global enterprise. The new enterprise field
will now be displayed on the edit screen in PWA for the project. Past the URL
link to the document, open and save the project, add the new field to your
PWA Custom view and your indicator will now be displayed. I hope this makes
sense.
