I am using Windows XP and Office XP 2002. I'm not sure
this is the best place to ask this question, but here
goes.
I have many documents that are hyperlinked in various
ways. When I click on a particular hyperlink (say "link
A") in document "A", another document opens ("B") at the
appropriate place. When I click on the "go back" icon (up
on the web toolbar), I am taken back to the document that
contained the "link A" (that is, document "A"). So far so
good. A problem arises when many documents have been
opened via these links because they stay open.
What I would like to do is the following: click on a
particular hyperlink, which opens another document. After
I finish doing what I have to do in that document, I want
to return to the previous document (by clicking on the "go
back" icon), but at the same time close the document I
have just opened (so I will not end up with a lot of open
documents messing up the place). How can this be done?
Will I need a macro to do this? If this is possible,
could you explain how to do this in easy English?
