Hyperlink to a Mapped Drive and Not a Full UNC path

Hi all,

when I insert a Hyperlink to a file , e.g H:\MyFile.whatever

It inserts the link as the full unc to the file, i.e.
\\serverx\userdata\myfiles\MyFile.whatever

Is there a way for it to map to a drive letter and not the unc path ?

Hmm. Cannot see how it knows the path without opening the file.
Sure you are making the hyperlink text (with quotes) ?

This works OK in Excel 97
=HYPERLINK("H:\test1.xls"
