I have Excel 97.
I have a cell on a sheet that has a hyperlink to another Workbook.
I wanted to have an easy way to just click on a button and go to
a different workbook. The workbook is already open, and I wanted
something a little easier than clicking on "Window" and then trying
to
find the window in a long list of workbooks.
This works for the most part, but the problem I'm having is that if
I save the workbook that I'm on, and click on the hyperlink to go to
the
other workbook, it actually closes the workbook that I was just on.
So, if I'm working in Workbook1 and there is a hyperlink to go to
Workbook2, and I click on it, it will open Workbook2, but Workbook1
will automatically get closed. However, if I make a modification to
Workbook1
BEFORE I click on the hyperlink and without saving it, then it will
open
Workbook2 and leave Workbook1 open.
Is there any way to make it so it will not close the workbook when I
click on the hyperlink to go to another workbook?
Or is there perhaps a function that I can run by using a command
button
in order to open another workbook?
I tried using Workbooks.Open "Workbook2" but that says that it will
close it, and do I want to save it, then it will open it again, and
ask me
to enable macros, and that's all very cumbersome.
Any help would be appreciated.
