Hyperlink to Draft View

I use many hyperlinks between Word documents. In Word 2008, when i click a hyperlink, the target document opens in Print Layout View. If I use the Open command to open the same document, it opens in Draft View, which is what I want to happen. How do I get my hyperlinks to open documents in Draft View? Thanks.

Hi Carl:

I don't think you can do this.

A normal hyperlink does not contain the information Word would need to
select a View.

When you use File>Open, you are opening the "original", and Word will open
that in the view the document was last saved.

When you open from a hyperlink, Word will open in the default view (Page
Layout).

Sorry...

Thanks, John. You've charted the territory for me. I shouldn't have expected hyperlinks to be geniuses. Sigh.
