Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Hi,

I'm trying to do hyperlinks to Word and PDF documents within shared folders, and it doesn't work. The link is made but Word doesn't want to open the documents. It works find when I am outside the shared folders, would that be the reason?

Thanks

No, the fact that the folders are shared is not the reason.

It may be that the folder names or paths contain spaces?

Cheers

Hi John,

Thank you for the answer. If I take both documents out of the shared folder than I have no problems... But if both or one of them is in a shared folder than it doesn't work. There is no space in the names of documents and when I insert the hyperlink, the path is automatically created...so I don't know what the problem is.

Hi Bernadette:

The hyperlink mechanism in sword 2008 is very flaky. There are multiple
cases where it just won't work.

But when I said "no spaces" I meant "No spaces in the entire URL", up to and
including the drive name. If there are spaces anywhere in the string, under
the old rules that's an illegal URI and it won't work...

Cheers
