Help. I have a quanity of Excel worksheets, Actually they are products
that I sell. Each worksheet has its own title. When I am working in the
worksheet " Gidjets" I would like to go directly to " Widjets" with out
going back to my main index. I work with a PC at the office and a Mac
at home. I have been unable to get a hyperlink to work on either one.
Can I do this with a hyperlink? If so I sure could use a step by step
as I seem to be missing something. Thanks.

If all the worksheets are in the same workbook, then you can select a
cell and insert a hyperlink (CMD-K). Enter the sheet and cell reference
after the anchor symbol (the octothorpe, #):

#Widgets!A1

in the "Link To" field, and put whatever you'd like to display in the
cell in the "Display" field.

If your worksheets are in different workbooks, Insert a Hyperlink as
above, then choose the Document tab in the Insert Hyperlink dialog.
Click Select to choose the file, then click Locate to choose an Anchor.

If both the target workbook and the workbook that contains the hyperlink
are open, you can shortcut the process by entering, for example

Widgets.xls#Sheet1!J10

in the "Link To" field.

Another approach to consider, since you need to have the hyperlink in
your viewing area to use it... Have you considered Named Ranges
instead?

If the sheets are in the same book you can simply select one or more
cells on a sheet, click in the Name Box @ the left end of the Formula
Bar & type in a name for the range (No Spaces). Once you press Return
the name is added to the list. Do the same for each sheet/range.

Whenever you want to go to a particular location just open the Name
List and select it. You don't need a bunch of hyperlinks scattered all
over each sheet and the list is right there on the Formula Bar
regardless of what part of any sheet you happen to be viewing at the
time.
