have hyperlinked .pdf files. when i preview in browser or publish site, the
files won't display.

have recalculated links, checked code, removed links and re-written. don't
get an error message, just get the icon that displays like when a picture is
missing from a page.

Check the case of the filename as compared to the link.

And I forgot to mention that the hyperlinks will work when the are linked to
the same files that are sitting on my desktop, but when I import them into
the webfolder and recreate the links to the same file imbedded in the
webfolder, the links won't work.

Don't know what/if any difference that makes.

You must import the file first into your current open web / site and then create links to them.

Provide a URL to a page with links to a PDF.

This is weird. I was just about to raise almost exactly the same problem.

I can't view pdf files and it's because I have upgraded to Adobe Reader 6.0.
I then deleted version 5.0 and IE can't default to the latest version and I
get the missing page icon as well.

Is this your problem as well?

Well to answer your question. I hadn't made the correlation between AR 6.0
and IE. But now that I think about it, I am using 6.0 as well.

Have a look on the IE community discussion group and search on pdf. You'll
see alot of stuff about this problem. I have just solved it by uninstalling
AR 6.0 and installing the latest version 7.0, all works now.

Regards
Richard
