Hyperlinking lost

Hi, can you help. I am working on a large excel document with every entry containing different hyperlinks. It works fine when I am working in the document and adding new data but when I save, exit and then later on re-open the document, the hyperlinks are lost. I have over 2000 different links I need to retain . I originally had this document on Windows XP and imported it across - could this be the problem. Every time I reopen the document it saves saved data could be lost. Is there a way to format a column to hyperlink bearing in mind that each cell refers to a different URL

The fact that it came from windows, is not the problem. There is a known
issue with Excel 2008 where this occurs. We'll just have to wait for a fix.
If the file is xlsx format, try saving it as xls to see if that makes a
difference.

Actually, the problem occurs with any .xls files opened in Excel 2008. If
you save the file as .xlsx in Windows Excel 2007 and then open it in Mac
Excel 2008, the hyperlinks will be fine. Or, if you create the file from
scratch in Mac Excel 2008 and save it as .xlsx the hyperlinks will be fine.

What about Powerpoint - I'm having the same problem in a large document. How can I save this and retain my hyperlinks?
