I have a document that has scads of hyperlinks pointing to bookmarks in
other documents. The hyperlinks work just fine but there are two problems I
wold like to fix if I can:
1. When I hpyerlink from the master document to a lower level document, I
have the user use the ALT+ Left arrow method to return to the master when
they are done, but the lower level document remains open. I am not the
"owner" of the lower level docs and I cannot modify them beyond placing
bookmarks in them. The user eventually ends up ends up with a bunch of
documents open. Is there a way to close the lower level or destination
document when they go back to the main doc?
2. At other places in my top-level doc, there are hyperlinks all leading to
the same document but that point to different locations (bookmarks) within
the doc. What ends up happening is that, with only the top level doc open,
they click on the hyperlink and it goes to exactly where it is supposed to in
the destination. When they go back to the top level doc and if they happen
to click on another hyperlink that leads to a different place within the
already opened, but not active, docment, the hyperlink goes to wherever the
cursor is at, rather than to the specific bookmark specified in the
hyperlink. If the destination document is closed and then hyperlinked to
again, but to a different location (bookmark), it works just fine.
Is there anything that can be done to fix this?
