Hyperlinks and embedded files

WHY can't I insert embedded documents, spreadsheets, presentations in OneNote
like I can in other Office products. I love OneNote, but I work across the
entire Office Suite and I find this very restrictive.

OneNote does not support OLE in the current version. You can insert
file:// hyperlinks to these files, and they open up in their host
application.

The requests for OLE support are something that the MS folks who monitor
this forum are well aware of.
