As part of my job function, I create Word documents containing external
hyperlinks (to various websites), internal hyperlinks (to files on my
company's shared drive) and bookmarks (to various locations within the
document).
My problem: My company utilizes multiple servers. Because of this, the
internal hyperlinks may work one time (let's say when I'm on server "A"), but
not the next (as I may be on server "D"). This holds true for any user I
send the report to. The IS Dept was able to overcome this by providing a
"hyperlink base" in the document properties. Now however, because of this
"base," the inserted bookmarks attempt to take me to some kind of internal
file, rather to the place designated within the report.
My question: How do I have my cake and eat it too? How can I get the
internal file links & the bookmarks to both work?
PS - the external links to websites seem unaffected either with or without
the base
