Hyperlinks breaking

I have created a complex document with several mail merge fields and several if...then programming fields. There are also several internal hyperlinks linking to various positions within the document.

The hyperlinks work fine in the template file and they work fine post merge (note again that the hyperlinks are not being merged--they are part of the static text) but as soon as I save the merged document to a new file the hyperlinks break.

I have tried everything I can think of and have spent about $100 on books all to no avail.

Anybody have any ideas?

Hi Tony,

For an intra-document hyperlink to work, it requires a bookmark of some kind. Since a bookmark can only exist in one location in a
document, and a mailmerge can replicate that location multiple times, Word deletes the bookmarks.
