I'm trying to use command buttons on a form in Access 2002 to launch Internet
pages. The pages are different chapters in an online manual. The manual
uses frames, with a left frame showing the table of contents and a right
(main) frame showing the chapters of the manual.
When I paste the URL for a specific chapter into a hyperlink in a Word
document and then test it, it launches the page correctly, with the table of
contents displayed in the left frame and the relevant chapter displayed in
the main frame. When I paste the same URL into the Hyperlink Address field
for a command button and then test the button, the page launches with table
of contents displayed in the left frame but instead of the relevant chapter,
Chapter 1 is displayed in the main frame. When I try different URLs for
other chapters, they all merit the same result, with the table of contents
displayed in the left frame and Chapter 1 displayed in the main frame. I
noticed in the Address window that a piece of each URL (".htm#") is being
omitted either by Access or Internet Explorer but when I check the Properties
of the button, the URL is there in its entirety.
If I copy the now-shortened URL from the Address window and paste it into
the Hyperlink Address for the button and then test it, the relevant chapter
is displayed but frames are disabled resulting in the table of contents not
being displayed. At the top of the page there's a "Show" link. Clicking
this will enable frames and display the table of contents but as I want to
have my cake and eat it, too, is there a way to keep the URLs from being
shortened so that the table of contents and desired chapter are displayed
when launching the page?

Thanks much!
