Hyperlinks from Text boxes or Rectangle (objects)

I am using Office 2003.

I have been unable to create a hyperlink from a text box to a heading
in the same document and I can only create a hyperlink from a
rectangle object if there is NO text in the rectangle when inserting
the hyperlink. Once the link has been established I can then add text
to the rectangle.

In the failed conditions no headings appear in the Insert Hyperlink
dialogue under the Heading goup.

Am I doing something wrong?
