Hyperlinks in custom property fields

Is it possible to insert clickable hyperlinks into Custom Property fields? Ideally, I would like to provide users, who view our process diagrams over the intranet using Visio's IE Active-X control, the ability to select a shape, review the custom properties, and if applicable, follow embedded hyperlinks to additional documentation. One note, I know the shape itself can be assigned a hyperlink; I'm looking specifically to provide links via custom properties as I'll have more than one link per shape.

I've played with this a bit and I'm guessing the answer is no but I thought I'd put it out there for the experts...

You use the singular here, but a shape may have a plurality of
hyperlinhks associated with it.
