Hyperlinks in emails

I use Outlook 2003. I send out messages to groups of internal staff and
often will put a link to a location on our network. The link works fine if I
test it in my e-mail…., but once I send it to them, the hyperlink is changes
to text only. I can go back and look at the sent e-mail, and I see that it
is no longer a hyperlink.

I retrieved a sent item and sure enough the hyperlink was text, but when I
went to forward that email the text turned back into a hyperlink.

Do you think there is a setting I need to change somewhere?
Thanks for your help!

Actually, just the right click and choose hyperlink. That will allow the
network path to be added as a hyperlink. You have to use Word as the email
editor for this.

These are file:// links? Are you using Insert button or pasting it?

I'm not aware of a setting that you can change that controls this behavior.
