hyperlinks in publisher created web sites

I am trying to create a hyperlink on my web site that will access a
downloadable pdf form I created on my computer. I tried uploading the
document to my server, but when a customer clicks the link, it tells them
they do not have permission to access the form.
Can someone tell me how to create this link in Publisher correctly

If this doesn't help provide a link to the page where you have the link to
the pdf file.

I apologize if I am annoying with my ignorance. This is the first web site I've done, and I am self taught.
The address of the site is www. azferrets . com. The links I am trying to
work with are on the adoptions page.
I tried uploading the pdf docs to my index file, I suppose that is why it is
pointing to my index? My host is godaddy, and they basically told me it was
my problem since its a "third party" issue and not a server issue. Oh well.

Your link reads:

ftp://[email protected]/NAFAR adoption contract.pdf

Should read:

http://www.azferrets.com/index_files/NAFAR adoption contract.pdf

Change it and you will see your PDF

As a rule you should stay away from spaces in file names. Although your
names will work, I suggest that you rename the files without spaces. The
pdf I tested is in your index_files folder. I would suggest a separate
folder in the root directory just for pdf's and such.
Example:
Create a folder in the root directory called downloads
Rename the files NAFAR_adoption_ontract.pdf
Create a link:
/downloads/NAFAR_adoption_ontract.pdf

Thank you for the assist.
I did as you instructed I believe, and when I check the link in preview, it
does work. When I actually go out to the net though, it is still pointing to
the ftp://......
Might this have to do with the way I uploaded the files? I was instructed
to "map a network drive" because I couldn't get Filezilla to access the
server.
I also zipped the files to make them downloadable.

Please disregard my previous post.
Spike, that you so much. I figured out that I needed to take the old site
down and put the new site up with the changes. It appears that all links are
working and I am very grateful for your kind help.
Thanks again!!! :)
