Hyperlinks in Word 2002 do not save correctly

Hyperlinks work until you save the word document.
Changes the address of the hyperlink after the save.
Control A, F9 fixes the hyperlink until you close word
and return. Need a way to resolve hyperlinks in XP, this
is the same in Excel. Get the error message, 'The
address of this site in not valid. Check the address and
try again.'
