Hyperlinks in WORD 2003 not converting to pdf

When I convert a WORD 2003 document to a pdf, most of the hyperlinks aren't
working. Help?

I may be wrong, but I think when you convert (using most converters) Word
docs are converted into a "flat" PDF. No hyperlinks. I believe you would
need a full version of Adobe Acrobat to retain things like that. But again,
I am not entirely sure.
