When I insert a hyperlink into a Word file that links to a file on our
network drive by clicking the Browse button in the Edit Hyperlink dialog box,
the file name looks like: ..\..\folder name\folder name\file name.ppt. When
I attach the Word document containing the link to an email, recipients get a
message "cannot open specified file" when they click the link in the file.
The only way they can open the linked file is to edit the hyperlink and
select \\serverinfor\serverinfo\folder name\folder name\file name.ppt from
the list. Then it works fine.
This happens when I use a hyperlink to a .xls, .doc or .ppt file. Any ideas
how I can send a working link without expecting the recipient to edit the
link? Thanks for your help.
