I have read the Hyperlink Bug thread, but have a slightly different
problem for which the Hyperlink Bug solution doesn't work.
If you create a word doc with a link to a htm doc in another folder
(in my case in a folder called HTML Docs in my home directory - the
original doc is in a folder called Web Site in my home directory),
then save the original doc as a web page in the folder where the
linked doc is (i.e. the word doc is in Web Site, the linked doc and
the saved web page of the original are both in HTML docs) then the
link in the saved doc is broken.
Here are the various scenarios, in all cases the link should be
......../MC/HTML Docs/target.htm :
1 - create the hyperlink in the normal way (select doc, browse, etc)
without putting ../ in front of the file name.
In this case the link in the resulting doc has ......../MC/Web
Site/HTML Docs/target.htm i.e. it thinks that HTML Docs is subordinate
to Web Site, not a peer.
2 - create the hyperlink and add ../ in front of the file name.
In this case the link in the resulting doc has ../MC/HTML Docs/HTML
Docs/target.htm this is also clearly wrong.
Any thoughts on this? Any news on MSFT fixing this bug?
Thanks in advance,
Ian
