I have a simple spreadsheet listing all my images I frequently print.
I thought it a good idea to print them to .prn files then create a link
to the prn file so I just had to click on it and hey presto.
(Prn files have been associated with a printtofile batch with the
following)
copy /b %1 LPT1
This has worked fine and I now have a large list ready but then I had
to re-install windows.
I put all the prn files on the same drive with the same drive letter
but now they will not work.
If I double click these prn files in explorer they print ok so there
must be a problem with the links.
I have noticed that excel changes the links as follows:-
D:\PRN Files\Set-1\A\A1 Side B.prn
PRN%20Files/Set1/A/A1%20Side%20B.prn
Also when I hover the cursor over the link the tip says:-
file:///D:\PRN Files\Set-1\A\A1 Side B.prn
But when I click on it a message appears asking if I want to open:-
D:\PRN Files/Set-1/A/A1 Side B.prn
I'm not sure if this was happening before or if this is the cause.
I think I understand the "%20" because it seems to be wherever a space
is but I cannot work out why it changes all the "\" to "/".
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS :- I am using Excel 2003 but the list was originally made with Excel
XP
