I have an Excel file in directory ABC on the company network.
I am trying to link to other files in directory XYZ.
When creating a hyperlink using the toolbar icon, Excel adds directory ABC
in front of my file path.
The link no longer works as the path is invalid. The path does not show up
in the window to allow me to change it - all I get is .../.../ or something
similar in front of my file path that also does not include XYZ (even though
I selected it when creating the hyperlink) but only the main folder to the
file path.
I have no hyperlink base set on my file. I have only had these problems with
links in Excel since upgrading to Office 2003.
Why does the link work only if I use the hyperlink formula and not the
toolbar method?????
