Hyperlinks to docs/web pages in Visio web pages not working

I am creating process flows that I would like to link to external documents
and web pages. All of the links I create work fine in the Visio file, but I
have problems when I create a web page. All of my internal hyperlinks work
(to other pages within the document) in the web page. When I mouse-over the
shapes with the external links, the curser does not recognize that a link
exists.

I am using Visio 2003 and IE 6.0 in an enterprise environment.

I've tried to link to files on my local hard drive as well as across the
network. I've tried relative and absolute paths, although for my final
solution I will need to use absolute paths. I've tried Word docs, html, and
Excel docs.

Editing the html is not an option since there will ultimately be 100's of
links and the document will be regularly updated.

I cannot find anything anywhere that states that external links are not
supported when creating a web page. I've seen the problem raised in various
forms, but have not found a solution to my problem anywhere.

I'd appreciate any help!

I added a hyperlink to a flowchart shape that has custom properties and the
hyperlinks worked in the web view. Originally, I added the hyperlinks to a
graphic information symbol that I created. So I think I have a solution, but
I am not sure why the graphic only shape did not work. I will need to do a
little more testing to understand what requirements a shape must have in
order for the hyperlink to work.

I am having the exact same problem. I have recently posted, but have not
received a reply. I tried using the 'hyperlink button' shape under the
'Borders and titles' shapes to no avail. I tried both relative and absolute,
but still no luck. They work fine within the .vsd file, but not when
published to web.

Any help would be appreciated!
