Hyperlinks to Flash Swf files

Hi,
when I create a Hyperlink from a PowerPoint 2004 OSX slide to Flash
..swf file the Flash file opens but the PowerPoint slideshow closes
down completely.

When I do the same thing in PowerPoint on a PC the PowerPoint
presentation remains open in the background.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi John,

When you say that the PowerPoint window closes "completely" do you mean
that PowerPoint shuts down, or that PowerPoint temporarily displays less
than full screen while the swf plays?

The expected behavior is that PowerPoint will shrink down while the
Flash is playing, but when you click back into PowerPoint the full
screen slide show resumes.

Hi Jim,
thanks for that. When the Flash.swf opens the PowerPoint Slide Show
closes down completely. I get the same behaviour on a G4 and a G5 Mac.

That is not supposed to happen. I'd start with some general troubleshooting
things, like using Disk Utility to repair permissions, and if that doesn't
work then trash PowerPoint's preference and plist files.
