I'm trying to set up hyperlinks from a cell to an outside data source,
but when the protocol in the URL is https, Excel returns the error
"Unable to open <URL>. Cannot locate the Internet server or proxy
server." In a test case, when the protocol is changed to http, the
link works, but that's not useful in the general case.
Environment: Excel 10.1.5, Mac OS X 10.3.4
I can find a note about preference problems in Excel98/Mac OS 9, but
no mention for recent versions. Has anyone encountered this problem?
If so, is there a bit of configuration that can be changed to fix it,
or is Excel trying to be too smart about the URL and failing, rather
than just handing it to the browser?
Thanks for any help you can offer.
