hyperlinks to PDF files

I'm trying to create a school website. I have many pdf
files on my computer that I want to hyerlink to. When I
preview the website they all work fine, but when I upload
the website to the school server, the hyperlinks to the
pdf files no longer work. Can anyone hep me?
