Hyperlinks unable to open

I have a user who is inserting Hyperlinks into a spreadsheet (INSERT >
Hyperlink) and trying to link to files on a shared network drive (S: Drive).

When clicking on the link, a prompt appears saying "unable to open link".

Links pointing to a personal drive work fine. And the document on the S:
drive opens fine if going to File > open.

any ideas?

user is a Thin client user on win 2000, excel 2003

i ran into the same problem when updating to 2003. i now use the hyperlink
function insted of inserting a hyperlink. i have no problems now.

insert>function>hyperlink

Even inserting the function results in the "unable to open" error
