I've seen this addressed from the programming front but not from the
end users' side.
Niece logs on to high school website from home (iMac running OS 9.2,
Office 2001, and Explorer 5.0) to get her homework. The assignment
opens automatically in Word but there are links within that document
for more homework which we click on but receive the message "Cannot
Open Specified File." The tech person at school told her that it's a
Mac problem with the way files are saved and/or downloaded. He
couldn't elaborate.
I can't change the way the Word document and links were set up which
has been addressed in these forums, but is there a way to change the
preferences in Explorer so that she can access the Word document and
its hyperlinks properly? I've looked at the preferences, but other
than changing the download location (which didn't help) I can't seem
to figure out a work-around.
