When I create a table of contents with built in
hyperlinks, MSWord2000 automatically sets a hyperlink # in
the format of TOC_5678839200 to the link. Whenever I make
changes to the document anywhere and need to update the
TOC all of the Hyperlinks numbers change, even if the
information in that field does not change. I am looking
for a way to freeze those assigned link #'s. Or a way to
create my own individual link names that will not change
on an update. Is this at all possible? If not what are
some other options that I have? My delema is that I use
the TOC #'s to point to the particular areas of my help
documents when I make a change I have to rekey all the new
hyerlinks in to the help files.
