I noticed recently that when I click on a hyperlink I get a message to say '
The operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on the
computer.' I haven't changed any settings and it started after the latest
windows update. I'm running Vista and Office 2007. Can anyone help with this?
Thanks

The site below focuses on Versions 6 & 7 - I have the problem Verision 8. I
also cannot activate the hyperlinks in Word or Excel (Office 2003). Any
suggestions?

I am also having this problem in Outlook and Word, with IE8 & Office 2007. I
followed the link and tried the suggested fix, but it did not work. For me,
the problem started sometime in the last three weeks. Could a recent update
have caused the change? I don't remember changing anything manually in the
last few weeks.

In reviewing some of the other posts on the same topic, I found a person
having the problem after installing/uninstalling Google Chrome. I did the
same thing within the last three weeks. Could something I needed have
uninstalled with the Chrome?

It seems that there are many people having this problem. There also seem to
be four or five different fixes that work for different people, but no one
(1) fix that works for all. To test the problem with on my laptop, I
installed Chrome on my desktop. The problem began immediately. Removing
Chrome from the desktop did not fix the problem. To keep it short, both
computers needed different fixes to remedy the problem.

Laptop - 1). Uninstall Chrome. 2). Install the latest version of Modzilla
Firefox and allow it to become the default browser (This in itself fixed the
problem on the laptop). 3). Go into settings and change the default browser
to Internet Explorer. 4). Uninstall Firefox.

Desktop - 1). Uninstall Chrome. 2). Roll the computer back to the last
restore point before the problem began.

Hope these help!!
