Been using Pub 3.0 for years. Works great.
Produced a newsletter, want to get it printed up digitally
at a shop.
Shop 1 says "No Publisher, give me pdf"
No luck on the pdf conversion.
Shop 2 says "We can print Publisher!"
So, they bring the doc into their newer version, and of
course the spacing is off and text is truncated.
Too make a long story short, I investigate in at leats 3
other installations of Publisher, and what I have
discovered is that newre versions of Publisher will not
hyphenate any text that is pasted into a document.
The reason my doc had truncated text was because the shop's
version of Publisher had un-hyphenated all the text. ANd
nothing I could do would get it to re-hyphenate.
I verified this by (at another installation), simply
pasting text from a Word cosument into a new .pub file. It
would not hyphenate.
When I just typed in new text,I can turn hyphenation on or
off (Tools->Language->Hyphenate ... what a bizarre place to
move it to ... Publisher 3.0 is much better designed that
its descendents).
So, anyone know what gives? I can't believe I'm the first
person tpo notice that Pub won't hyphenate pasted text.
