I’d like to exit the Insert Bookmark box and then return.

So I can position the cursor or fiddle with the text. I’d like to be able to
leave and return to the Go To box also.

You CAN!!!!
Like Find, you simply click in the Text and Edit at your leisure.

Not after I've clicked in the "Bookmark Name" text entry field and started to
work there. If I click in the text, I get that "clunk" sound.

.... it is not logical to continue the discussion ....

.... by referring to the INSERT BOOKMARK dialog box.
