I am getting a runtime error in word how do I correct this

I am running Microsoft office XP and just installed adobe suites. I am now
having difficulty with Microsoft Word. I try to open it and get a message
about running in safe mode. When I select no I get a runtime error. I've
looked for updates but don't see anything.

Adobe seems to have a hard time getting its Word add-ins to work.
