I am having an Outlook day

For the last several years, I have had Outlook days 2 or 3 times a quarter.
Outlook either: freezes; is slower than molasses, or like today, it took me
30 minutes to get to the opening screen because of problems opening Outlook.

One: Stuff happens
Two: It is tiring
Three: Maybe I need to 'debug' system.
Four: I am not a geek, but I have used microsoft products regulary since
DOS. I am not afraid to do anything, I just don't know the technicals

Five: Two questions: A) Is there anything I can do with Outlook?
B)I probably need to stop using freeware and spend the money
for good spamware and registry software; any suggestions

Windows XP, 1 gig ram, 160 gig hd; I run ZA Pro; Windows Defender(free), Ad
Aware(free) and Registy Fix ver 3.0.(free), Avast antivirus (free) The
freeware analyzers seem to pick up trivial stuff

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Solution: 1) Backup your work that is on the system
2) Format your whole system
3) Go to the bank
4) Get some funds for windows, Office, antivirus, spamware and whatever
software you need
5) install and configure it
6) Put the work that you have backup back onto the pc

The above will make your life much, much easier

First, I believe it is an Outlook problem. Everything else seems to work. I
have my e-mail forwarded to Outlook and yahoo and I have no problems with
Yahoo.

If I have a 'bug' in my system, backing up my system, reformating the hard
drive and then pasting the copied material would reinfect my hard drive.
