I am trying to use address book for outlook and outlook express

Hi

I have just upgraded from Xp to Office 2003. I use Outlook and Outlook
express. In XP I share the Address book, but since my upgrade I can not see
the Conta views in Express. I can though in Outlook and Word. In XP there is
an option in Address book under Tools- Options which allows you to share
Address Book with Outlook and other applications. This is not present in my
set up of 2003. Any ideas?

You are mistaken.
Neither Outlook 2002 (what you call "XP") nor 2003 have an option to share
with Outlook Express. In fact, no full version of Outlook ever did.
Only the long defunct IMO mode of Outlook 98/2000 ever permitted sharing
with the WAB.

You can re-create a similar feature with a reg hack:
http://www.slipstick.com/contacts/oeshare.htm

Note, that for later versions you may have to hack a different key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WAB\WAB4

Thanks

I am suprised as I have managed to do this easily in my existing system and
the only change is Outloo 2003. I still run XP. In all other parts of the
system I can se the Outlook Contacts. It seems strange that we can not share
one set of contats across both systems . I weill apply your fix
Thank you

Thanks. I did what it says in Slipstream and it works. However I also run
additional contacts in sub folders. These are for example Personal. Business,
etc. This makes managing the names easier. These sub folders can not be seen.
Any ideas?

Did you enable each subfolder as an email address book in its properties?
