I am unable to accept appointments in calendar, what has changed ?

Just recently, I am unable to accept appointments that are sent as email
into my calendar - click on 'Accept' and nothing happens..

Also, I am unable to open appointments already on the calendar as I get
message "This message with restricted permission cannot be viewed in the
reading pane until you specify your credentials. Open the item to read its
contents and verify your credentials."

How do I remove "restricted" permissions ?
