I am unable to change font colors or highlight any cell(s). Help!

I just had my computer cleaned of viruses. I had MS Office Pro, but had to
buy MS Office Std Edition 2003. I am unable to change font colors or color
highlight cell(s) on old excel spreadsheets or on new ones.

What do I have to do to correct the problem(s)? Who can I contact for
instructions?

What happens when you try? Does nothing happen or do you get something
else?

aka excel

If Excel just displays the data in your sheet in black and white even after
you try to change a cell background or the font color, try viewing the same
data in print preview. If the colors are displayed in print preview, Open the
control panel and go to accessibility options and on the display tab uncheck
"use High contrast"

I followed your instructions. I now have colored fonts and highlighted
cells on the screen when I open up an excel spreadsheet (one where I had set
fonts and highlighted certain cells).

I'll try this on my Montgomery, AL pc. There the 'print screen' was black
and white but had color on the screen and print.

Thank you for replying.
