I-Beam Mouse when scrolling (Office XP)

Hi there, a couple of our users are experiencing an annoying flicker of the
mouse between the I-Beam and the egg timer when they are using the cursor
keys to scroll through a document.

There are add-ins and macro's as part of our customisations but even with a
vanilla installation it still does it (not nearly as much - with
customisations its every key). Is there a reg key/option that will stop
this flicker. The users are getting a little irate with it.

Have you tried updating the graphics driver?

They are the latest drivers. Any clue as to why this would help?

Just a guess based on the fact that the hourglass icon might represent
delays in screen redrawing. More likely, however, it indicates that Word or
Windows is distracted by some other process. It would be worthwhile to try
to establish what this is. You might look at Task Manager and see what other
processes are running and how much of the CPU's attention they are
consuming.
